Every scan read by the right radiologist, wherever they are.
WinguRAD is a cloud PACS with reporting built in. It stores every study from your X-ray, CT, MRI and ultrasound machines, puts it in front of a radiologist anywhere in Kenya, and sends the signed report back to your front desk.
Built in Nairobi. Pay per signed report with M-Pesa or card. No monthly fees.

The machine is in the county. The radiologist often isn't.
Hospitals across Kenya have invested in X-ray, CT and ultrasound. Radiologists are far fewer, and most of them work in a handful of towns. Studies wait days for a report, or travel on CDs and flash drives.
A 2021 study of registered imaging equipment found that Nairobi is the only region with the full range of imaging machines, while the Western region has the fewest units of every kind. Read the study (Pan African Medical Journal).
WinguRAD moves the images instead of the people. Your radiographer scans, a qualified radiologist reads it from wherever they are, and the signed report comes back to you through the app.
From scan to signed report in four steps
Your team keeps working the way it does today. WinguRAD carries the study between them and tracks the turnaround time of every report.
Step 1
Scan
Your radiographer takes the X-ray, CT, MRI or ultrasound as usual. The machine sends the study to WinguRAD on its own. No CDs, no flash drives.
Step 2
Assign
The radiographer picks a radiologist for the study: one of your own, or one from the WinguRAD network.
Step 3
Report
The radiologist opens the study in a web browser, wherever they are, and writes and signs the report. They only ever see studies assigned to them.
Step 4
Return
The signed report is ready to print at your front desk. A QR code on it lets the patient open their images on their phone.
One app for radiographers, radiologists and admins
Each person signs in to the view they need, and sees only the studies they're allowed to.
Every study from your machines, in one list
Studies appear as soon as they're taken. Radiographers assign each one to a radiologist, and everyone can see what's waiting, what's being read and what's done.
| Patient | Type | Study | Received | Status | Radiologist |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Wanjiru K. | X-ray | Chest PA | 08:42 | Waiting | — |
| Otieno J. | CT | Head, plain | 08:15 | Assigned | Dr. Achieng |
| Mutua P. | Ultrasound | Abdomen | 07:58 | Assigned | Dr. Kamau |
| Chebet L. | X-ray | Left wrist | 07:31 | Reported | Dr. Achieng |
| Hassan A. | MRI | Lumbar spine | Yesterday | Reported | Dr. Njoroge |
Who uses WinguRAD
Hospitals and clinics
Get reports for every X-ray, CT and ultrasound you take, even without a radiologist on site. Patients leave with a printed report and their images on their phone.
Imaging centres
Run your own reporting team across branches. Assign studies, watch turnaround times and keep every report and image in one place.
Radiologists
Read for facilities across Kenya from wherever you are, on your own schedule. You only ever see the studies assigned to you.
Pay for reports, not for software licences
Buy tokens with M-Pesa or card. One token is one signed report. Viewing, storage, sharing and patient links are free, and tokens never expire.
KSh 60–100per signed report, depending on the pack
Packs from KSh 2,000 for 20 reports. Volume pricing for hospital groups and counties.
Patient data stays with the people treating the patient
Access is set by role and by facility, and every account is created by an administrator. There is no public sign-up.
Invitation-only accounts
An administrator invites each user and sets their role: radiographer, radiologist or admin.
Two-step sign-in
Users can protect their account with a code from an authenticator app on their phone.
Radiologists see only their studies
A radiologist can open a study only after a radiographer assigns it to them.
Account changes on record
Every new user, role change, change of facility access and two-step sign-in change is logged with who made it.
Encrypted connections
Studies travel from your machines over encrypted DICOM, and on to radiologists and patients over encrypted web connections.
Patient links you control
Each patient QR link opens only that patient's images, in a viewer with no access to anything else.

Built in Nairobi, for Kenyan facilities
WinguRAD is made by MEMS Technology Solutions Ltd. Wingu means cloud in Kiswahili: we put imaging in the cloud so that a study taken in any county can be read by a radiologist anywhere.
We price in shillings, take M-Pesa, and answer the phone in Nairobi. You'll find WinguRAD at the KASNEB Innovation Showcase, 26 to 30 October 2026.

What do we need to connect our machines?
A machine that sends DICOM, the standard format for medical images. Most digital X-ray, CT, MRI and ultrasound machines do. We set up an encrypted connection with your radiographer or IT person, and WinguRAD can also work alongside a PACS you already have.
Do we have to use your radiologists?
No. You can invite your own radiologists, use radiologists from the WinguRAD network, or mix both. Each radiologist only sees the studies assigned to them.
How do tokens work?
One token pays for one signed report. Looking at images, storing studies, sharing them and patient QR links don't use tokens. Tokens belong to your facility and don't expire.
What happens when our tokens run out?
Studies keep arriving and stay viewable, but radiologists can't finalise new reports until you top up. You can top up any time with M-Pesa or card from inside the app.
Do we need fast internet?
A normal broadband or 4G connection works. Large CT and MRI studies open faster on a stable connection. Nothing needs to be installed on your computers: WinguRAD runs in the web browser.
